Layers

"Layers" is a new body of work that explores accumulation, memory, and transformation through photography, printmaking, and encaustic. Each piece is built through a process of layered collaging—images are added, obscured, reworked, and repositioned so that no single layer is fixed or final. MacDonald intentionally varies her techniques from layer to layer, switching the roles and placement of painting and photography to disrupt hierarchy and expectation.
